The paper studies the effects of rapeseed pressing and extraction upon the total sulphur content in crude oil. The extracted oils produced in two oil mills contained more sulphur than the pressed oils. In the laboratory conditions most sulphur compounds transfer into oil in the course of cold pressing, cake extraction and hot pressing of the pretreated seeds. In the course of oil refining most of the sulphur was removed in the process of degumming and deodorizing.
