Fractionation of lecithin by using additives

For many scopes or application lecithin preparations with a higher phosphatidylcholin content are desired. Fractionation of raw lecithin by using neutral glyceride oil, fatty acid methyl and ethyl esters was tested. Products with highest yield and content of phosphatidylcholin were obtained by alcohol extraction for 20 min with 10 fatty acid methyl ester - the extraction yield was 66,7 and phosphatidylcholin : phosphatidylethanolamine quotient was 10,0 : 1,0.
